Experience the Heart of Savannah...
Dating from 1851, the Marshall House maintains an elegance that befits Savannah’s first hotel. Following a $12 million renovation - the fourth upgrade in the hotel’s long history - it represents the latest modern comfort and the rich elegance of one of the nation’s most historic locales. Its 65 rooms and three suites - once used as a hospital for Union soldiers - now feature high-speed Internet, flat screen LCD TVs and more, yet they retain their original heart pine floors and brick walls. A reconstructed wrought-iron veranda has been a signature of the hotel since 1857. And as it’s always been, the hotel is situated between City Market and River Street, the true heart of Savannah.

Historical
Founded in 1851 by Mary Marshall, the Marshall House was once used as a field hospital for General Sherman’s Union troops. It’s an evolving gem representing Savannah’s past and present, and today it’s a splendid boutique hotel with its many artifacts and original construction on full display.
Luxury
Although the Marshall House is over 150 years old, it’s never lacked for modern accoutrements. In 1899, that meant electric lights and hot/cold running water; today, it means flat screen LCD TVs, high-speed Internet, custom-made furniture and personalized service that never goes out of style.
Romantic
Surround yourself with pure luxurious charm at the Marshall House. Luxurious linens and private baths with pedestal sinks - some with claw-foot tubs - create a private haven for two. And the hotel opens directly onto the glittering Broughton Street, with fine dining, shopping, nightlife and more.
Hotel Suites
The 65 superior king, queen or double-queen rooms and three suites at the Marshall House are renovated for just the right balance of historic charm and modern sophistication. You’ll find flat screen LCD TVs, private baths and more; the warm décor is enhanced by authentic historic artifacts.
Inns And B & B's
With a total of 68 rooms and suites and a combination of historic authenticity and modern comfort, the Marshall House maintains the ambiance and service level of a small inn-style boutique, including the flourishing atmosphere of 45 Bistro with its vaulted glass ceilings and original artwork.
