Dating from 1851, the Marshall House maintains an elegance that befits Savannah’s first hotel. Following a $12 million renovation - the fourth upgrade in the hotel’s long history - it represents the latest modern comfort and the rich elegance of one of the nation’s most historic locales. Its 65 rooms and three suites - once used as a hospital for Union soldiers - now feature high-speed Internet, flat screen LCD TVs and more, yet they retain their original heart pine floors and brick walls. A reconstructed wrought-iron veranda has been a signature of the hotel since 1857. And as it’s always been, the hotel is situated between City Market and River Street, the true heart of Savannah.

Historical

Founded in 1851 by Mary Marshall, the Marshall House was once used as a field hospital for General Sherman’s Union troops. It’s an evolving gem representing Savannah’s past and present, and today it’s a splendid boutique hotel with its many artifacts and original construction on full display.
