Curry Village offers park visitors comfortable, inexpensive lodging right in the shadow of spectacular Glacier Point and Half Dome! With beginnings as a tented camp, Curry Village was built by Valley visitors with a dream to see Yosemite. Curry Camp, now dubbed Curry Village, has kept intact its original vision: it still serves as a place where park visitors can enjoy the beauty of Yosemite for a modest price.
Curry Village offers classic canvas tents with a twist. An inexpensive option within the scenic canyons, peaks, and valleys of Yosemite National Park, you can rent a double tent with two single beds, perfect for a true camping experience without having to set up a tent! These tents, made of a wooden frame, floor, and door and then covered in canvas, are what made Curry Village one of "America's favorite campgrounds."
Camp Curry was founded in 1899 by David and Jenny Curry, two schoolteachers from Indiana. who dreamed of visiting Yosemite, but could not afford the coach fare to the park. And so, Curry Village was born, offering affordable room and board within Yosemite; a legacy that continues to this day.
