At the time of the Jacobite rising in 1745-46, Culloden House was requisitioned by Bonnie Prince Charlie and used as his lodging and battle headquarters. Today, this handsome Palladian country house stands in nearly 40 acres where guests are free to wander about the elegant lawns and parkland or relax in the wonderfully comfortable drawing-room with magnificent Adamesque plasterwork, many fine antiques and a large open fire.
