Welcome to Downeast Acadia

Whale watching? Check. Puffin watching? Check. Lobster watching? Well, you might want to eat the lobster, but there is certainly plenty to see and do in the rugged coastal region of DownEast & Acadia! Bring your camera as you sail an authentic schooner down the coast to catch a glimpse of finback whales, dolphins and puffins. If you’d prefer a view from a distance, watch from your table at the Eastport Chowder House in Eastport while dining on the areas best-known crustacean: lobster! When you’re full, take in the historic sites of Fort Knox and, more famously, Maine’s coastal lighthouse collection. The Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse and the Little River Lighthouse are just a couple of the area’s most popular. Sit back and enjoy the view!
