Sample Springmaid Beach Resort’s Hawaiian Flavor

Known for miles of oceanfront shoreline, a buzzing boardwalk, and outstanding golf courses, Myrtle Beach is an East Coast activity center. Hawaiian luaus, however, are one activity that you don’t associate with the area. Well, not until now.

Take a walk on the tropical side of South Carolina at Springmaid Beach Resort, where an authentic luau transports you to Hawaii. Prepare for a beachfront bash that includes a Hawaiian buffet, hula dancing, and a show-stopping Polynesian fire dance show.

Every Wednesday evening, the fun begins with an extensive Hawaiian luau buffet, during which the tropical treats just keep coming. Sample one of two delicious salads before you dig into the main entree, which gives you the choice of blackened salmon with spicy mango sauce, glazed beef short ribs, or mouth-watering chicken.

Supplement your stomach with fresh vegetables, Hawaiian-style fried rice, roasted sweet potatoes, and a cavalcade of desserts that include chocolate and pineapple upside-down cake, coconut cream pie, and an assortment of cookies.

Once your stomach is satisfied, it’s time to experience the Hawaiian culture. Traditional stories and hula dancing will make you feel like you’re in Maui, as the sandy beach shores and the Atlantic Ocean backdrop remind visitors of the Aloha State.

“Our luau setting, ambiance, and backdrop make you truly feel like you’re in Hawaii,” Springmaid Marketing Manager Donald Hovis said.

Adding to the island ambiance is the grand finale, a daring Polynesian fire dance performed by Chief Kamu. The exciting hula and fire show is sure to get you feeling closer to Hawaii. This really is the perfect event for those in search of family fun.

The family fun continues with an ocean of amenities. Though you’re not really in Hawaii, you are truly in paradise. Make a splash in any of the eight sparkling swimming pools, swing by the 18-hole miniature golf course, or reel in the trophies at the fishing pier. Escape to your oasis sipping a pina colada at the Back Porch Pool Bar & Grill, sampling fresh seafood at one of two onsite restaurants, or catching a tan on the powdery white beach.

“Springmaid Beach Resort provides the greatest family vacation spot along the Grand Strand,” Hovis said.

With a fun-filled Hawaiian luau and so many family-friendly activities, Springmaid Beach Resort tempts you to sample its Hawaiian flavor.
