The culture, dining scene and live entertainment options are world class. To get a taste of the unique culture, try visiting one of the great local art museums such as the Norton Museum of Art or the Armory Art Center. Establishments such as Hullabaloo, Okeechobee Steak House and Agora Mediterranean Kitchen offer unique meals, delicious refreshments and a chance to see different parts of the city. The live entertainment here comes in a variety of flavors. You’ll find comedy, opera, bands, plays, musicals and so much more, without leaving the confines of this beautiful city. To get the full scope of this diverse and vibrant area, you’ll want to partake in one of the big local events such as the Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest.

With a crowd of over 4,000 people expected, the Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest is quickly becoming one of Florida's top beer themed events. If you're a fan of exceptional beer, having fun, and are over the age of 21, this is the perfect event for you. This year's festival will have over 150 beers from over 40 different brewers. In addition to the wide selection of beers, there will also be whiskey tasting, silent disco, live music and more. If you're a foodie and enjoy seeking out unique dining opportunities, Food Truck Nation will be on hand with over 10 different food trucks, serving up a wide spectrum of meals to enjoy. Experience the best beer and food that West Palm Beach has to offer in a fun and cool environment at the Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest. We got the chance to interview Jennifer Cartwright, representative for the Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest, to talk about the event.

RAL: Tell me a little bit about the event.

JC: This is going to be the 4th Annual Palm Beach Summer Beer Fest. The past three years we have sold 4,000 tickets annually. This year we created two sessions with fewer tickets at each to create a better user experience. When it come to those in attendance at our festival, we primarily see couples but we also get groups of friends and singles.

RAL: What makes this event unique?

JC: One major factor that makes this event unique is that the festival is held indoors under cool A/C when it’s blazing HOT outside. Also, we have two sessions now, day and night. Last but not least, we offer live music (concert element) to the show.

RAL: Take me through the activities people will find at the event.

JC: Activities include:

  • Live music

  • Unlimited craft beer sampling (150+ beers) corn hole games

  • Silent disco dancing,

  • Bourbon tasting area

All activities listed above are included with general admission.

RAL: Will there be any guest appearances?

JC: Yes! All seven local radio stations will be onsite and broadcasting live with their morning shows. The KVJ Morning Show will be sampling their exclusive K, V, J & D craft beers, which are brewed by Twisted Trunk.

RAL: What food options will be available?

JC: This year we are going to have over 10 different food trucks from Food Truck Nation on hand serving up some delicious food. From chowder to BBQ, we have something to eat for everyone!

RAL: Tell me about the overall environment of the festival.

JC: Our event is fun, festive and relaxed. This is a great place to meet new people and sample great beer. Our event is held indoors (with cool air conditioning) at the easily accessible South Florida Fairgrounds.

RAL: What can an attendee expect to find for local lodging?

JC: West Palm Beach Florida has a wonderful selection of lodging options to choose from. No matter if you're traveling alone, on a couples getaway or with a big group, you’ll easily find the lodging you're looking for.

RAL: What does the event mean to the community?

JC: We are proud to support and work with Little Smiles of South Florida. Their mission is to help kids at local hospitals, hospices, shelters and beyond. Check out their website for more information. This charity is amazing and all for the kids.

RAL: Does this drive business to your local economy?

JC: Yes, it certainly does. First, the extra people in the community area spending money at many of the local shops, restaurants and lodging providers is a huge revenue boost. This is also huge for the local brewers who are featured at our event. The exposure helps them sell more product and reach new groups of people that they wouldn’t have before. “Drink Local” is the mission of our festival.
