Quench your thirst for fun, delighting your taste buds with amber perfection at the Chowder, Blues and Brews festival. The celebration, part of Florence’s Fall Festival, is jam-packed with food and activities for festival goers. Warm your belly with a bowl – or two – of steaming chowder and compliment it with the cool touch of liquid temptation on your lips. Come to enjoy the delicious fare, or cook up your own cure for hunger by entering the annual chowder cook-off yourself. Then, let the fun begin.

  •        Late September, annually
  •        Florence Events Center, Florence, Oregon
  •        $7 or $15. Receive a plastic beer stein or commemorative festival glass, respectively

More than 20 food vendors are eager to fill your hungry bellies here. Their choice delicacies perfectly compliment the myriad of chowders and brews. Make sure to stop by and have a bite before sampling endless beer from a host of Oregon microbreweries, offering delectable concoctions ranging from pale ales to dark stouts. The event will be fantastic, and delicious, but don’t think that’s the only reason to visit Oregon. Explore the beautiful Sea Lion Caves, the natural habitat of wild sea lions, and a variety of sea birds. Hit the beach for that perfect bronze hue, and go clamming while you’re at it. Florence is a versatile vacation destination that can be as serene or exhilarating as you like.
