Western North Carolina.  A place where the mountains provide a beautiful backdrop to an inn with rustic charm. The tranquil lake setting is a haven for those seeking a casual, family atmosphere and the unhurried pace of a mountain retreat. It’s perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries, family reunions, small group meetings or a quiet restorative getaway.

Mill House Lodge in Flat Rock, North Carolina is near a variety of attractions and activities, from golf courses and antique shops to beautiful natural waterfalls and hiking trails. Visit a local historic site, indulge in some incredible fine dining, and enjoy a range of live entertainment.  Carl Sandburg’s home, "Connemara", is located a short distance away, as is Flat Rock Playhouse, the state theater of North Carolina.  The Inn is three miles from historic downtown Hendersonville, a short drive to the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, and a mere twenty-five minutes from Chimney Rock State Park, DuPont Forest and America’s largest residence, Biltmore Estate in Asheville.  Plus, there are many quaint mountain towns and villages nearby to visit.

Mill House and the Mill House Lodge have served Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina for over 200 years. In its early years, the Mill provided ground corn and wheat products to Hendersonville and Asheville, North Carolina and Spartanburg and Greenville, South Carolina. In the mid 1900's the Mill was converted to a motel and several buildings were added to house the visiting tourists. The Lodge now serves to provide travelers with a variety of comfortable accommodations and picturesque scenery.

A variety of lodging options are found on the property, so guests are sure to find the perfect getaway for them.

In the Jordan Lodge, guests can relax and enjoy the view from the windows and front porch. This multi-level building overlooks the lake and houses thirteen efficiencies, nine country suites and the executive suite.

For a cozy escape, The Rhodes Cottage is reminiscent of a mountain cottage with a private porch. Unwind outdoors and bask in perfect views of the lake and grounds and simply let nature weave her magic.

The Lakeview lodge is a quaint lakeside building with six guest quarters. Each has a knotty pine interior lending the look and feel of a mountain retreat. Guests have their own porch from which to enjoy nature’s tapestry of ever changing colors and sounds.

The Summey House derives much of its charm from its clean, traditional lines and front lawn. Guests select from a two or three bedroom suite or a spacious studio. It’s a short stroll from Summey House to the pool.

Resting on the hill just above the dam, the Timberlodge is a mountain home with a two bedroom suite and two one bedroom suites. Wake up early and catch the spectacular views of the morning sun as it rises above the tree-lined shore of the lake.

The Dogwood is reminiscent of homes built by the early settlers of Western North Carolina. Guests have a selection of a two bedroom suite or four executive size hotel rooms. The large front porch offers a place to sit, reflect and renew the spirit.

A meeting room is also available for group getaways. Guests will quickly notice the hand-hewn beams and floorboards of Chestnut, a tree very prevalent in Western North Carolina in 1800's and early 1900's. The room may be arranged to accommodate a variety of different events; from managers or sales meetings to family reunions and will comfortably hold 35 to 40 people.

Enjoy the tranquil mountain getaway of Mill House Lodge and experience all that the area has to offer.
