Enjoy a Split Rock Resort Vintage at Their 23rd Annual Winefest

When asked to imagine a vacation in Wine Country, most people see themselves sipping Pinot noir in Napa Valley, California or sampling Chardonnay in Finger Lakes, New York. However, an unsung grower of the grapes has emerged in Pennsylvania, where more than 150 wineries produce some of the best wine on the East Coast.

No stranger to the wine game, Split Rock Resort and Golf Club has been bringing vino enthusiasts to the Poconos for more than two decades with its Great Tastes of Pennsylvania Wine & Food Festival. A June staple for 23 years now, this festival pleases patrons with Pennsylvania wineries, craft and food vendors, and rocking musical acts.

Uncorking fun on June 22nd and 23rd from noon to six p.m., this festival (affectionately known as Winefest) is your source for summer wine sampling. With such an intoxicating experience every year, it’s no wonder Winefest has gained a loyal following.

“Our team is very pleased to continue hosting one of the oldest and most epic wine festivals in the Northeast,” Split Rock Resort Acting Director Chuck Dickinson said. “We continue to see loyal patrons return year after year to enjoy tasting wine and food, along with listening to good music and doing a little shopping with our craft vendors.”

Start your weekend off tasting the well-crafted creations of 33 of Pennsylvania’s most prestigious wineries before you try the local flavor of any of the 91 craft vendors. Treat your tastebuds pairing the different wine varieties with mouth-watering morsels from 34 food vendors.

Just as the wine and food will please your palate, the continuous performances will be music to your ears. Featuring three bandstands and six different musical acts:  George Wesley, Smokin’ Gunnz, Harkland, High Strung, DJ Paradise Productions, & A Pair of Nuts playing at the Sandbar, this festival features performances as varied and unique as their wines!

Drink in some knowledge at educational wine seminars, which are held throughout the festival. As you fill up on information, fill up your commemorative wine tasting glass, which comes free with every ticket.

The tickets can either be purchased in advance or on the days of the festival.  Save a few dollars with discounted tickets, which are available for groups of 25-plus, designated drivers, non-drinkers, and attendees under 21.

Featuring renowned Pennsylvania wineries, outstanding craft and food vendors, and half a dozen bands, the 23rd annual Winefest looks to be Split Rock Resort and Golf Club’s finest vintage yet.
