Beanstalk Music & Mountains Festival

Rancho Del Rio’s location in the Rocky Mountains and proximity to the headwaters of the Colorado River make it the perfect spot for a rustic Colorado adventure. Outdoor enthusiasts will find ample opportunities for whitewater rafting, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, and fishing. Whether you're looking for a low-key couple’s getaway surrounded by nature, or an activity packed getaway with a group of friends, Rancho Del Rio is a great place to experience the Colorado wilderness.

The Beanstalk Music & Mountains Festival is a one-of-a-kind music event, combining outdoor activities and great music, scheduled to take place June 22-25 at Rancho Del Rio in Eagle County. The event is entering its fifth year, and organizers are expecting to sell out the 1,000 available tickets. The festival is ideal for the entire family, and the scenery around Rancho Del Rio is breathtaking. More than 20 bands will be featured during the four days of the event, covering a variety of music styles. A vendor area will feature art and unique items for purchase, as well as food vendors selling meals and snacks. Whenever attendees want a change of pace, they can head into the wilderness for hiking, biking, rafting, fishing and more. We got the opportunity to interview Ryan Noel and Scott Hachey, representatives of the event, to learn more about this great music experience.

RAL: Tell me a bit about the event.

RN/SH: This is the 5th Annual Beanstalk Music & Mountains Festival. It's an intimate festival (capping out at 1,000 tickets) located directly on the banks of the Colorado River. We welcome all demographics to Beanstalk, and usually there is something for everyone to enjoy, kids and adults alike. We enjoy the wide cross section of people we see at Beanstalk each year and are proud of the family we’ve built within the festival. There are a lot of individuals who come every year, but the atmosphere is always one of acceptance and respect.

RAL: What makes the event unique?

RN/SH: One thing that sets this festival apart is its location, Rancho Del Rio, and all the amazing activities there are available for people in attendance beyond music. Rancho is a beautiful spot nestled between the mountains and Colorado River. The scenery alone is worth the trip, with red mountains contrasting the evergreen trees and the endless blue sky reflecting off the river. It's a very special place.

RAL: Walk me through a typical day at the event.

RN/SH: Here is a breakdown of a typical day at the festival:

1. Wake up onsite.

2. Jump in the river to help you wake up and feel refreshed.

3. Grab food from one of our many vendors.

4. Head back to the campsite and hang with your friends.

5. Participate in an outdoor activity like stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, or rafting.

6. See some great live music!!! The performances begin later in the day so you can enjoy activities before the music starts.

7. From here on out I think everyone's journey is unique to themselves. When the sun goes down, it gets a little freaky and fun.

RAL: What will attendees find for local lodging?

RN/SH: As far as lodging, camping is always the main route people choose. It's onsite, and the conditions are ideal. There are also many options just a short drive down the road at State Bridge, from teepees and yurts to cabins.

RAL: What does the event mean to the community?

RN/SH: This event is a family reunion of sorts for the Colorado music and outdoor community. Summer draws people in a lot of different directions and Beanstalk is a place where everyone can get together locally and connect. It's inexpensive for a festival and brings in substantial commerce to the Eagle County area.

This event is on pace to sell out. So we recommend not waiting to get your tickets until the week of the event. We have a cap set at 1,000 attendees.

RAL: Why should people come?

RN/SH: It's a unique combination of Colorado camping and outdoor activities coupled with a music festival. Beanstalk is a great way to meet new people and create new experiences. It features a laid back vibe, and it's all about enjoying yourself and the outdoors.
